My primary research focuses on strengthening maternal and child health (MCH) services and developing self-care tools, which are crucial for improving community health and well-being. By addressing MCH services, we aim to enhance healthcare delivery for mothers and children, ensuring they receive timely, quality care. Developing self-care tools empowers individuals to actively manage their health, promote preventative measures, and strengthen the healthcare system.
Young Researchers Engagement:
Young Researchers Engagement: To engage current students in my research, as a part of mentorship, I focus on creating opportunities for active participation through hands-on projects, workshops, seminars, and professional assistantships. I encourage learners to contribute ideas and feel invested in the outcomes by organizing regular group discussions and brainstorming sessions with peers under my supervision. I also integrate my research into coursework to some extent, showing its relevance and fostering the curiosity of young healthcare professionals. Developing a network platform and Mentoring students on how the research aligns with their academic and career goals builds a stronger connection and sustained interest in global public health.
Research Impact:
What’s exciting about my MCH Handbook development and utilization impact is its potential to transform community health outcomes. Improved MCH services can reduce maternal and child mortality in the longer term, improve early childhood development, and result in healthier communities. Self-care tools, on the other hand, encourage sustainable health practices, increase health literacy, and foster a sense of ownership over personal and family health and the continuum of care. Together, these efforts contribute to long-term health equity and resilience within communities, no one is left behind.
